Engaging Fathers – Family Nurse Partnership

Engaging Fathers Workshop

(Delivered by Family Nurse Partnership)

Fathers play a crucial role in the development and wellbeing of their children. However many paternal figures report they can often feel marginalised when their children are accessing health and social care services.

This learning package empowers professionals to recognise and embrace the significant role father’s play in families, and how they can effectively engage fathers in their service.

Objectives of the session:

- To enhance understanding of the importance of father engagement in child development, maternal and paternal health.

- To provide an update in motivational interviewing skills to support effective communication with fathers.

- To provide a space to think about how we can create and implement a more father inclusive service and practice.
