The role of Safeguarding Children Partnership (SCP) is to make sure agencies are working together to safeguard children and young people and make them safe. It is our job to work hard to make sure that Cheshire West and Chester is a safe place for children and young people to grow up. The SCP has an independent person, Jill Thorburn, who asks lots of questions of agencies to ensure that what they do to safeguard children and young people is working.
The SCP is made up of professionals with different jobs including: police, doctors, social workers, and teachers, we call these our partners.
The partners regularly check, and if needed, change practice, to make sure the needs of Cheshire West and Chester’s children and young people are met in the best possible way.
The Government has published the guide below for young people to explain how adults and professionals are expected to work together to protect and safeguard children.
You may find this leaflet really helpful to explain what happens if you attend a child protection conference.
